Three-vehicle smash at Allen/Hardwick crossing
Journalists in the vicinity witnessed two vehicles colliding at the busy intersection.
A collision at the corner of Hardwick and Allen Streets at around 07:40 this morning (August 26) caused chaos and congestion.
Journalist in the vicinity witnessed a Hyundai and a BMW colliding at the intersection, with the force of impact sending the Hyundai careening into a bakkie. Traffic officials and SAPS arrived at the scene minutes later.
Three occupants of the BMW, including a toddler, escaped without injury as did the bakkie occupants. The Hyundai driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
It is believed one of the vehicles skipped a red traffic light, leading to the collision. However, the exact circumstances of the incident are now subject to formal investigation.
