Security guards honoured by uThukela

An Mbube Security employee was especially thanked for helping to deliver a baby at Murchison Mall

uThukela District ‘First Lady’ Cllr SV Shabalala held an event at the Ladysmith Town Hall on Tuesday (August 23) in honour of the security guards in town.

Attending the event along with Cllr Shabalala was Infrastructure Portfolio Committee chairperson Cllr MM Khoza, Corporate Services Portfolio Committee chairperson Cllr F Zuma and mayoral office manager Mr OS Mnguni, as well as other officials.

The event was specifically to honour Mr Lalla from Mbube Security, who went beyond the call of duty on December 6 last year. With no medical training at all, he helped a woman deliver her baby at the Murchison Mall. This was described as a true act of humanity.
