NPO aims to uplift local economy

The aim was to educate, network and form a database of all business owners within the community

The Youth Light Organisation, which is a non-profit organisation (NPO) based in the Matiwaneskop area, held various activities recently, including a business seminar, sanitary pad donation initiative and school visits.

The seminar targeted businesses operating within Matiwaneskop and also individuals who wish to start up a business. The event was held at the Matiwane Community Hall.

The aim was to educate, network and form a database of all business owners within the community. This seeks to uplift small businesses and also encourage the community to use locally-based service providers.

As part of the programme, schools were not left behind, since the organisation visited two high schools. During the visits to Mancengeza High School and Masoyi Secondary School, valuable information was shared with the matriculants on how to apply to higher education institutions and also to educate them about what lifestyle changes to expect at university.

Other stakeholders that were involved included the Small Enterprise Development Agency, Klipriver Taxi Association, TSSK SOLUTIONS Investment and motivational speaker Sindiwe Hlophe.

The Youth Light Organisation thanks all the stakeholders and attendees for their support and participation.
