One dead, several injured during robbery

The owner of the factory passed away as a result of his wounds.

One person has been killed and three others injured, following a robbery at a factory on Albert Wessels Drive this evening (August 6).

According to an official source, three suspects entered the factory store and tied up three victims, before allegedly torturing them for money. All three victims were said to have been stabbed several times.

One of the victims managed to press the panic button, alarming security forces who responded within minutes. Upon arrival, response team members gave chase after the suspects.

One suspect was shot and the other two were apprehended,” said the source.

Two of the victims were found in critical condition and were transported to hospital for further medical treatment.

The owner of the factory… had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.”

All emergency services are currently at the scene conducting preliminary investigations. The Newcastle Advertiser extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
