Pothole and sewage woes in Lancashire Road

The potholes fill up with water from a sewer leak at the side of the road

Motorists and residents are frustrated by the potholes in Lancashire Road.

To make matters worse, the ‘craters’ are always filled with water from a sewer leak at the side of the road.

“To say that we’re not happy about the state of the road is an understatement. This problem is right in front of everyone’s eyes. It has been reported as well, but no one seems to do anything about it,” said one resident.

The resident added that the sewer has been leaking for the past few months now, and water runs onto the road on a daily basis.

With regards to the sewer leak, uThukela communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza says he will forward the issue to the Technical Department.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality had not commented on the potholes at the time of publishing this article.
