uThukela builds toilets to improve quality of life

About 30 temporary job opportunities will be created for locals in each ward

uThukela District Municipality has launched a project to construct 200 precast VIP toilets in Ward 6 and 7, providing a dignified sanitation solution to over 100 households.

This initiative will also create approximately 60 temporary job opportunities for local residents.

The uThukela mayor emphasised the importance of community ownership, and urged residents to protect the infrastructure from vandalism and theft.

The appreciative community welcomed the work done by uThukela. “It is imperative that we provide our people with basic services through water and sanitation infrastructure,” said the mayor.
