Fountain of water from burst pipe in Barrack Road

Residents say that water has been gushing out for over a month

A burst water pipe in Barrack Road looks like a fountain, says concerned resident Peter Venter. He says the water has been gushing out for more than a month now and uThukela has done nothing about the situation, despite calling them on numerous occasions.

“It’s amazing that, when one doesn’t pay for water, uThukela are so quick to cut you off, but clean water is being wasted here and they are doing nothing,” fumed Venter.

“Thousands of litres of water is being wasted,” fumed another resident in the area.
