Men accused of killing top municipal official appear in court
The incident happened early this year in Ekuvukeni
Two men accused of killing top municipal official Brian Xaba and two others in January 2024 appeared in the Ladysmith Regional Court today (October 2).
The bodies of the deceased were found in the Mabhekazi area of Ekuvukeni on January 22. They had sustained gunshot wounds.
Xaba was the Manager of Local Economic Development & Tourism Museum at Alfred Duma Local Municipality. He had worked for this municipality since September 2012.

The case was postponed to November 11, when the second accused is expected to get a legal representative.
The court advised the large number of community members who attended the case that the trial might only start next year due to the process that needs to be followed.
