Taxi driver killed in Connor Street shooting
Police temporarily closed the road to carry out their investigation
Police are investigating a murder case after a shooting yesterday afternoon (September 29) in Connor Street.
A man who was allegedly a taxi driver was shot dead inside a vehicle by an unknown gunman. Another person in the taxi was injured in the incident.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan confirmed the incident and commented that, ‘’Estcourt police were called out to Connor Street, where a shooting incident had occurred. It was discovered that a 35-year-old man had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was found inside a vehicle. A second victim also sustained gunshot wounds and was taken for medical treatment.”
The deceased has not yet been officially identified.
Estcourt detectives are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.
