Suspect appears in court following drug bust

A 27-year-old suspect has appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court following a successful operation targeting narcotics trafficking.

Law enforcement agencies had conducted surveillance in the Winterton area, culminating in the interception of the suspect’s vehicle on the R74.

A search yielded a substantial quantity of tablets suspected to be ecstasy.

The suspect was taken into custody and the vehicle impounded.
