Municipality warns about job scam
Criminals who scam poor communities in the name of councillors and workers, beware
Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality would like to warn the public about a fraudster who is claiming to be Municipal Manager Mr SB Mthembu on Facebook and scamming the community.
According to the municipality, the con-man is using the municipal manager’s information, such as name and profile photo, to ask for money from people after promising them a job at the municipality.
“The municipality reminds the community that if there are jobs available, we use newspapers, the municipality’s Facebook page and the mayor’s page, which is the page used to communicate with the community,” commented Mayor Mduduzi Myeza.

He continued to say that, “No one needs to be paid. Should anyone be applying for a job, the community is asked to be very careful, as criminals are very busy. Their actions will be harshly punished if they are caught.”
