Suspect found with unlicensed firearm

A suspect will appear in court today (June 13) after being arrested during a police operation in the area.

The man was arrested yesterday for possession of an illegal firearm.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan commented that a 20-year-old suspect will appear in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court.

“He was nabbed during a high-density operation held in the Kwa Magaba area of Ematsheni last night after being found in possession of an unlicensed pistol. He faces a charge of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm,” said Khan.
