Acaciavale CPF calls for more patrollers

They are fighting crime and need more volunteers to join the good fight

With a focus on reducing crime and bringing criminals to book, Acaciavale Community Policing Forum (CPF) members are on the ball from Sunday to Sunday.

Speaking to deputy CPF chairperson Avash Puncham, he said that since they have been patrolling, the crime rate in the area has decreased. He recalls an incident that took place recently where he caught a thief who stole a woman’s handbag.

“We risk our lives, but it’s for the safety of our community. We wish to call on more patrollers to join us.

“We use our own personal vehicles and money from our own pockets for fuel, so people who would like to contribute financially can call 0824161149 – this is totally voluntary,” he added.
