SPAR Supermarket in Estcourt was a hive of police activity today (November 3) after a vehicle was found that is believed to have been used in an armed robbery.
The silver-grey car was found abandoned in the parking area.
According to police at the scene, the car was allegedly left there by suspects who robbed a shop in Ladysmith.

A chase ensued after the robbery, but the suspects managed to evade capture. At this stage, it is unclear if they fled on foot or in another vehicle upon abandoning their getaway car.
The suspects are still at large and no arrests have yet been made.
Police officers from Ladysmith, Ezakheni and Estcourt were on scene.
