Two pedestrians injured after being hit by a taxi in Newcastle

Two people were left seriously injured after been knocked by a mini-bus taxi.

Two people sustained serious injuries late yesterday afternoon (October 23) after being hit by a minibus taxi Albert Wessesls Drive, Newcastle.

Chantelle Botha of Kwa-Zulu Private Ambulance Services, said paramedics were called to the scene following a report of a collision.

“When emergency services arrived, they found that two pedestrians had been hit by a taxi,” she explained.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that the two had sustained serious injuries.

“Both patients were treated on scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.”

The exact cause of the collision is still unclear at this stage and will remain subject to further police investigations.
