Pedestrian injured after being hit by a tanker

The man is believed to have attempted to run across the road when he was hit by the tanker.

A pedestrian had a narrow escape on Monday evening (August 21), after he was knocked over by a tanker on the N11 Utrecht turn-off.

Charles Steyn of Magenta Medical Services said the man is believed to have attempted to run across the road when he was hit by the tanker.

“Fortunately, he only sustained moderate injuries and was transported to hospital for further medical treatment,” he said.

The exact cause of the accident remains unclear at this stage.
