SAPS respond to robberies

Residents are urged to be vigilant and report suspicious activity to police

An attempted armed robbery took place this morning (August 18) at Diesel Port.

It is alleged that there were four suspects, but they failed to steal anything from the premises. The suspects fled in a Toyota with no number plates.

Police are currently investigating a case of robbery and attempted robbery. No arrests have yet been made. 

Another robbery took place today, where a suspect broke into a house and was later caught by members of the Junction Hill Community Policing Forum (CPF). It is alleged that the suspect attacked someone in the house, before stealing cash and household items. The victim of the attack managed to escape.

The suspect is currently in police custody.

The crime rate seems to be increasing in Ladysmith and residents are advised to be vigilant at all times. Report any suspicious activity to the police, immediately.
