Police recently made numerous arrests after conducting searches in and around town.
The officers found two suspects, aged 40 and 27, selling liquor without a licence.
They were immediately arrested.
Another 22-year-old suspect was found in possession of an illegal firearm. The pistol had two rounds of ammunition in the magazine.
Two more suspects were arrested for possession of narcotics.
A large number of people and vehicles were searched, and dagga and liquor were recovered.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan, the suspects have since appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court.
The recovered pistol will be subjected to ballistic testing to see if it has been used in any crimes in the country.
