Newcastle crime fighters stop fraud syndicate dead in their tracks

A fraud syndicate operating and targeting the Newcastle business community was brought to book recently, thanks to the hard work and dedication of Newcastle crime fighters.

Imran Ghafoor of the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, said the syndicate would order products over the phone, send falsified proof of payments, and then collect the items.

These cases were eventually reported to law enforcement.

Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, together with Newcastle K9 Unit, Newcastle Detectives, and Optimus Protection Services, started gathering information, which led them to Osizweni, where they arrested three suspects which resulted in two more being arrested in Arbor Park.

This led to the apprehension of the alleged mastermind of the syndicate and the recovery of the stolen items.

“We would like to thank the dedicated team that worked long hours to bring about this success.”
