Man arrested for drug possession
A successful undercover operation yielded positive results
Acting on information, police arrested a 24-year-old man and recovered drugs.
Police were told about drug dealing in VQ Section of Wembezi and a team comprising of Wembezi police and the Uthukela District Zone 1 Task Team leapt into action.
An undercover operation was planned and on Saturday night (February 18), they were successful.
“They swooped into the premises and a search was conducted. During which members recovered rock cocaine,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
The arrested man was charged with being in possession of drugs and appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court yesterday (February 20).
