Two people were shot in Wembezi on Saturday (February 18).
Police have confirmed that the two victims, aged 40 and 41, were killed in the shooting.
“It is alleged that the victims were at Nkwezela when unknown suspects opened fire before fleeing the scene in their gateway vehicle,” said police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo.
Both the deceased sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies. At this stage, police say the motive for the double murder is unknown.
On February 13, two people were also shot and killed while in a taxi driving from Estcourt to Wembezi. Three others were injured.
