A 36-year-old man was arrested after being found with an unlicensed firearm in Steadville recently.
Police rushed out to the Thembalihle area, where they found a 9mm pistol that had its serial number filed off.
The suspect made a brief appearance in court on Monday (January 23), facing charges of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if it has been used in any crimes.
