Man arrested with AK-47 assault rifle
The suspect has appeared in the Ekuvukeni Magistrate's Court
A man was arrested after being found in possession of an AK-47 and 27 rounds of ammunition in the Uitvaal area recently.
Officers from Ekuvukeni SAPS sprung into action after receiving a tip-off that a person was carrying an assault rifle.
According to a police spokesperson, the officers approached the area tactically and surprised the suspect, who was promptly arrested.

The suspect faces charges of being in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
