Follow-up operations to track down a suspect proved successful for police in Loskop (Amangwe).
On November 19, Uthukela District Crime Intelligence and Amangwe Visible Policing officers conducted an intelligence-driven operation aimed at locating a previously identified suspect who was allegedly in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
“Police arrested the suspect after finding him to be in possession of an unlicensed revolver, as well as ammunition. The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
The man has since briefly appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court.
