Two men found with illegal firearms

A tip-off led to officers swooping on the Leonardsville area

Two men were arrested late last week after a tip-off on Thursday (October 13) that both were in possession of illegal firearms.

Police officers found the 27-year-old and 31-year-old in different parts of the Leonardsville area. They were searched and the information proved to be correct; two firearms were recovered.

Both firearms had their serial numbers filed off.

The suspects are being profiled and the firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to ascertain if they were used in any other crimes in the country.

One of the suspects has been charged with house robbery that occurred during August in the Steadville area.
