Attempted hijacking in Uitvaal area

The vehicle was shot at, but luckily no one was injured

This afternoon (October 13) in the Uitvaal area, there was an attempted hijacking of a delivery vehicle belonging to a Ladysmith-based company.

Two suspects shot at the vehicle, but the driver carried on going and sped away from the would-be hijackers. Fortunately, no one was hurt. 

A bullet hole in the front windscreen is evidence of their lucky escape from the harrowing ordeal.

Police responded within minutes and a case has been opened.
