Two arrested for firearm possession in Loskop
Two people were arrested and two firearms and ammunition recovered
During the early hours of Sunday morning, September 25, Amangwe Visible Policing officers pounced on a residence in the Loskop area.
There, a 23-year-old man was arrested after being found in possession of a homemade firearm and one round of shotgun ammunition.
A short while later, the officers closed in on another house, where they found an 18-year-old with a revolver. He also had two rounds of ammunition in his possession and was arrested.
“Both suspects have been charged for being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition. They appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court last week. The recovered firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
