Armed robbery at local supermarket

A bakkie belonging to the supermarket owner was stolen by the robbers

It is alleged that a group of armed men stormed into a supermarket in Centenary Road this evening (September 6), where they held the owner at gunpoint.

They stole the shop owner’s bakkie and also took the keys of a car that was parked outside the supermarket before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Police responded to the scene.
