The pair was arrested during a late night raid

The combined efforts of various police units resulted in two men being arrested on the night of August 10.

Uthukela Crime Intelligence, Amangwe Visible Policing Units, as well as the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) embarked on an intelligence-driven operation late that night.

The officers conducted a raid in the Emakekeni area of Amangwe (Loskop), where the arrests were made and two firearms and ammunition recovered.

“A 30-year-old suspect was found in possession of a .303 rifle and a 32-year-old was found in possession of a pistol with two rounds of ammunition. They will face charges of being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
