Arson to blame for War Room fire?
The Ward Councillor has alleged that the fire was started deliberately.
Ward 3 Councillor, Connie Hariram from the Democratic Alliance firmly believes that a fire which ravaged a building in Fernwood yesterday (August 10) was started deliberately.
Cllr Hariram is convinced that the incident was a personal attack, intended to drive her out of her position.
It is obvious that this is arson!” said an outraged Cllr Hariram.
The interior of the Fernwood War Room, which serves as a community centre for a yoga group, an aerobics class and a senior citizen’s club, was said to have been gutted by the blaze.
Hariram claimed that the fire appeared to be an escalation of attacks on her, which began with a string of ‘hate messages’ on social media.
I intend on reporting the matter to the local police for a full investigation to be carried out.”
