Huge ox breaks a record at Dundee Fat Stock Show and Sale

This was the first time this sale was held in five years with over 500 cattle being sold.

An ox was sold for a record R38 500 at yesterday’s Dundee Fat Stock Show and Sale. The seven-year-old ox, that was also judged the heaviest ox on show, was sold by Fritz Botes of the Hattingspruit Farmers Association and bought by a butchery.

The sale was conducted by AAM. This was the first time in five years that the Fat Stock Show and Sale was held. Covid-19 and foot and mouth disease hampered the show which is a highlight on the local agricultural calendar.

See this week’s Courier for full details of this record-breaking show and sale!
