An ox was sold for a record R38 500 at yesterday’s Dundee Fat Stock Show and Sale. The seven-year-old ox, that was also judged the heaviest ox on show, was sold by Fritz Botes of the Hattingspruit Farmers Association and bought by a butchery.
The sale was conducted by AAM. This was the first time in five years that the Fat Stock Show and Sale was held. Covid-19 and foot and mouth disease hampered the show which is a highlight on the local agricultural calendar.
