September 7: Bikers to give blood
The Boanerges MCC Dundee National Blood Run will take place at the Dundee Adult Centre from 09:00.

September 9: Eventide Aged Care Centre to hold AGM
The annual general meeting of SAVF’s Aged Care Centre will be held from 18:00 on Monday, September 9, in the Eventide lounge, 15 Beaconsfield Street. All community members are invited to attend.

September 27-29: Ifa Lezulu Church to host career guidance and talent services
Ifa Lezulu Church will hold a youth career guidance service and talent search exhibition at the Dundee High School hostel, Tatham Street, for three days (September 27-29).

October 19-20: Talana Live Weekend with ghost dinner and walk

The battle of Talana will be commemorated on the weekend of October 19-20 with lots of historical displays, cultural shows, wagon rides, beer tent, a car show and show and shine competition and much else. In the evening there will be a ‘ghost dinner’ at the Miners’ Rest complete with characters from the past… October 20, the anniversary of the battle, will see tours of the battle sites in and around Dundee (all welcome) with wreathes being laid and later, the ghost walk up Talana Hill. November 24: Massive ‘best of the best’ pool competition
Dust off your cue sticks and get practising! Pool addicts are in for a treat when a combined ‘best of the best’ showdown takes place in the Glencoe Town Hall. Registration fees: R250 per player. Closing date: November 20. Plenty of prizes are to be won: 1st – R5000; 2nd – R2000; 3rd – R1000; 4th – R350.
