Winds topple huge election sign outside Dundee

Witnesses said it was a miracle that no passing cars were damaged when the sign fell over.

The strong winds that battered Endumeni for over three days caused some homes to lose their roofs, trees to topple over and also fanned out-of-control veld fires.

The icy cold pre-frontal gales also crippled the huge ANC election board at the intersection of the Dundee/Nquthu road yesterday.

The massive sign was erected several weeks before the May 29 general election. It is not clear if the sign will be re-erected.
