Sentraal’s rugby team enjoy back-to-back wins

Following defeat away to a tough and uncompromising Piet Retief side, Sentraal Rugby Club has enjoyed back-to-back wins at home and away to Vryheid and the Bears.

Sentraal brushed off Vryheid’s ‘Maroon Machine’ 33-12 in Glencoe on May 25 after leading 19-7 at half-time. Tries were scored by Zulu, Allison, K Hlongwane, S Hlongwane and Groenewald, while Alex van Rooyen slotted home four conversions.

The second team enjoyed a 47-12 win against Vryheid. In Newcastle this past Saturday, the blue of Sentraal was again dominant, winning 45-15 against a gallant Bears side.
Julian Kriel, Marius Groenewald, Armand Lutske, S Zulu and K Hlongwane all dotted down for Sentraal.
