Majuba College’s Dundee campus cultivates a love for agriculture

“Our agricultural students come from different backgrounds and diverse cultures, however, the common goal is to learn about sustainable farming methods and to be more self-sufficient,” Skhosana said.

Majuba College’s Dundee Campus has taken practical steps to ensure students studying agriculture are well acquainted with tending to a garden that will produce food for themselves and their families.
Farming lecturer at the College, Thabo Skhosana, said the garden project is now part of the curriculum, where they are taught how to prepare land, make seed beds, and plant various types of seedlings to harvest and sell the produce.

“Our project ran for a week last month where many different activities were conducted on the farm plot. We send a word of appreciation to our event sponsors, including Build It and Boxer Superstore in Dundee for playing a big role in ensuring that our students were catered for with regards. It was a great experience and very successful,” he concluded.
