Men linked to farm attack in Dundee area arrested for illegal firearms

One of the firearms was found to have been reported stolen from Jeppe in Johannesburg and a case has been opened at Jeppe police station.

In a breakthrough that could help solve several crimes, the Umzinyathi District Task Team on Thursday, April 11, arrested two men, both 26 years old, for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in the Helpmekaar area.
Police spokesperson Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana said that information was received that two men employed as security guards at a farm in the Helpmekaar area were in possession of unlicensed firearms.
“According to the info, the guards were allegedly involved in a farm attack where firearms were taken.
“The attack took place a few months back, on the same farm that they guard.”
Police swooped on the farm and seized two unlicensed pistols with ammunition from the guards.
Both were arrested.

“An investigation into the farm attack the men are alleged to have been involved in is continuing,” Constable Nkwanyana said,
