DHS athletes bag 10 gold medals at Pionier athletics meeting
DHS athletes put in exceptional performances.
Congratulations to the following Dundee High School (DHS) athletes for winning gold in their respective events at the Pionier athletics meeting:
Mia van der Merwe (two gold medals), Lulama Ndebele, Ethan Jansen, Siyanda Mtshali, Lwandiswa Mazibuko, Sifundo Mguni, Imange Ndebele and Novelee Vorster.
Winners of St Dominic’s pre-season tournament
On Saturday, the DHS boys’ first and second hockey teams travelled to St Dominic’s Academy to take part in the pre-season hockey tournament against various schools in the district. The first team boys performed extremely well and DHS is pleased to announce that they won the A division of the tournament. DHS beat Vryheid’s first team 1-0, drew against LHS and FHS, and beat Ferrum in the final 1-0 for the win. Well done to the team, coach Dean Lambert and manager/mom Mrs Raffenberg. The school is extremely proud of this team!
Sport against Ferrum
On Saturday, DHS played their winter sport league games against Ferrum High and the scores were as follows:
Hockey:
U/14 lost 3-0;
U/16 won 1-0;
Second team won 1-0;
First team lost 4-0.
Chess:
Beat Ferrum 6:4. Well done!
Netball:
U/14A lost 6-24;
U/14B lost 2-15;
U/15A lost 7-40;
U/15B lost 15-16;
U/16A lost 10-15;
Second team won 17-14;
First team lost 20-29.
Rugby:
U/14 lost 12-50;
U/15 lost 0-14;
U/16 won 31-5;
Seconds lost 15-20
First team lost 12-27.
