Dundee Secondary’s Class of 1977 get nostalgic

Later that day, the old scholars gathered at Black Rock Casino in Newcastle for the official reunion dinner, where many stories of days gone by were recalled.

Dundee Secondary School’s matric class of 1977 held their 47-year reunion on Saturday morning in fine weather conditions. The group planted a tree on the school premises.
The ceremony started with a prayer and a welcome speech to all who attended from far and wide. Dundee Secondary School was founded in 1974 and was then known as Dundee Indian School. Later, the name changed to Dundee Secondary School.
Many thank you’s were made during the ceremony by the old scholars.
School principal SW Dhlamini and the governing body, chaired by Mr Mkhize, were given gifts as a token of appreciation by the ex-pupils.
Mr Dhlamini and Mr Mkhize welcomed the group and said they hoped they would come back in 2027 to celebrate the 50th anniversary at the school.
