Protesters block R33 on the Dundee/Vryheid route
The reason for the action was not immediately known but thought to be service delivery related.
Protesters have closed the R33 route near Cotswold on the Dundee/Vryheid road this morning.
Burning tyres, branches and other obstacles have deen dragged across the road near the Mpati stream past Battlefields Lodge. There were also reports of cars being stoned.
Motorists are urged to avoid the route and those travelling to and from Vryheid will have to use the Dundee/Nquthu/ Mondlo route or the roundabout road from Newcastle, Utrecht to Vryheid.
The reason for the protest was not immediately known but is thought to be water-related.
