Former Dundee policeman loses bail appeal

The accused is alleged to have plotted several attempts to assassinate Maj Slambert

Former Dundee police captain, Roshanlal Banawo will remain behind bars in Vryheid after the Pietermaritzburg High Court denied bail his application appeal. Banawo was arrested in November last year on charges of conspiracy to commit murder , the target being District SAPS commissioner, Major General Slambert.

It was found that the reasons that  brought forward in the High Court were the same reasons that were brought on the lower court previously in Dundee. The court ruled it was satisfied with those reasons and bail was denied.
