R33 Dundee/Greytown road hit by protest action

Motorists should use alternative routes until the all clear is given by authorities.

Protest action on the R33.

SAPS have been deployed to monitor protest action that has seen the closure this morning of the R33 Dundee/Greytown road.

Burning tyres and other obstacles are blocking the route.

It is not clear what has sparked the latest action but previously the community from the Sithole farm (also known as Stratford) area have taken to the main road to protest against a lack of water and other service delivery issues in their area.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
