A huge water leak on the Buffalo River pipeline that feeds water from the Tayside pump station to the Biggarsberg Water Works is to be finally repaired today.

Farmers on the Dundee/Vryheid road, in the vicinity of Cotswold, said the water had been pumping out of the pipe for days, flooding their fields.

Endumeni and especially Wasbank have experienced continuous water outages over the past months due to among other issues, old infrastructure and a lack of resources.

The repairs will mean a 12-hour shutdown at the Tayside pump station and residents are urged to use water sparingly.
