‘Our Nan’ still rolling in the bowls honours

Nan Roos may have left Dundee but she is continuing to reap bowling honours.

Former Dundee bowler Nan Roos, who now plays out of the Western Cape, has been selected for the ladies’ senior Proteas team that will be taking part in the World Championships in Cyprus from December 1 to 14.
Nan, who previously represented KZN Country Bowls when she played for Dundee, is the only player representing the Western Cape in the tournament.
There are four women and four men in the team, as there will be a women’s and mixed fours competition.
Other countries participating include the USA, England, Wales, Scotland, Czech Republic, Israel, Jersey, Norfolk Island near Australia, Guernsey, Switzerland and Zimbabwe.
Nan and her husband, Lourens, left Dundee upon their retirement and joined Hartenbos and Mossel Bay Bowling Club. Nan has represented Dundee and Northern Natal on many occasions and won many tournaments in her bowling career. The Dundee Bowls Club committee and members wish Nan all the best!
