November 25 – Advent Sale

The Uelzen Lutheran Church ladies are planning their annual Advent Sale for Saturday, November 25, at 08:00 at the Dundee Pick n Pay Centre. Come along early so that you don’t miss out on the Christmas biscuits, Advent wreaths and other homemade items. Contact Heidi on 082 817 5110.

Marking Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s birth anniversary

The public is invited to attend the 98th Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s birth anniversary celebrations, to be hosted by the Dundee Sai Bhajan Group at the Dundee Hindu Temple from 18:00. Supper will be served. Om Sai Ram!

Get your Christmas presents at this market hosted by Tourism Dundee at the Dutch Reformed Church grounds (corner of Willson and Beaconsfield streets). Members of the historic Dundee and District Club are reminded of the annual general meeting to be held from 6pm on Friday, December 8, at the club on Gladstone Street, adjacent to Build It.

December 9:

SPCA Christmas Charity Sale

Help the SPCA to raise funds for the busy festive season at the SPCA. The SPCA is inundated with needy animals over this period. The sale will be held at the Dundee Angling Club opposite Dundee Junior School from 9am to midday. There will be a cake sale, tombola, popcorn, food and drinks, dog/cat treats and toys. December 15:

Ghostly night at the museum

You can enjoy a night just like the movies of the same name! Talana Museum will host a night at the museum, complete with ghostly apparitions, from 7pm to 8.30pm. Ann Smith is said to walk around the historic Smith Cottage, carrying a candle to light her way. Hamish Smith wanders around Talana house. There are also some unsettled ghosts of the British soldiers who perished at the battle of Talana. Not convinced? Come and see for yourself. Contact the Museum at 034 212 2654.
