Northern KZN juniors land massive fish

The lads from the Dundee and surrounding areas have shown themselves to be hooked on angling.

A total of 127 anglers representing eight clubs took part in the second round of the NFWAA Atlas Towlines League at Richgate Park.
Glencoe Angling Club was welcomed back into the fold of the NFWAA after an absence of over three seasons.
During the course of the day, 171 fish were landed – there is no doubt that many got away as well.
Yahya Bobat of Endumeni landed the first carp of the season that weighed in excess of four kilograms.
His catch of 4.010kg will take some beating, even though there are still six outings remaining.

The non-scaled category is led by Itec Freespool’s Aiden Boltman, who caught a barbel of 7.125kg, which he landed with a few minutes remaining before the weigh-in.

Both Yahya and Aiden are juniors at their respective clubs.
The team competition dished up a few interesting results, as Itec Freespool finished in the top spot with 65 points, 15 ahead of second-placed Ladysmith.
Third place went to Docrats with 48 points, followed by Chelmsford with 42, Glencoe with 28, and Ace Aqua with 20 points.
The early leaders in the ‘Angler of the Year’ competition are Shandy Singh of Chelmsford and Sathar Khan of Ladysmith on 17 points each, followed by Bjorn Talanda (Docrats), Joey Samuels (Chelmsford) and Trevor Veran (Riverside) on 12 points each.
Other category leaders are Ralph Pandoy of Ladysmith with 10 points in the senior category, Aiden Boltman of Itec Freespool with nine points in the juniors, and Talia Veran of Riverside with seven points in the ladies’ section.
The next fixture on the NFWAA calendar is the first round of knockouts, which will be fished at Sanford Islands on November 5.
The draws for the knockout are as follows: Glencoe against Chelmsford, Endumeni against Ace Aqua, Docrats against Ladysmith, and Riverside coming up against Itec Freespool.
