SPCA night walk was a great family occasion

Debbie Sharp and her assistants made sure the route was clearly marked and that all the walkers and runners wore 'head lamps'.

The SPCA ‘Night Walk’ across the golf course last Wednesday attracted an enthusiastic group who appeared to be geared up for the jollities of the upcoming Easter weekend. The SPCA committee members were assisted by some local Rotarians as far as logistics were concerned. For renowned athlete Eugene Corbitt, it was a chance to run against his young daughter, Leaney, who is already making waves on the track at her primary school.
For others like Angus Miller, a stroke survivor, it was an evening to challenge themselves to walk around the course of 5km, or less if one so chose.
Another entrant, Brian Hedley, said the walk provided an opportunity to go on an evening stroll with his daughter, Jessica Jones, who was visiting from London.
Many walkers got into the spirit of the event by dressing up as the Easter Bunny or in Imran Joosub’s case, going full-out to resemble a walking Easter egg! Debbie Sharp and her assistants made sure the route was clearly marked and that all the walkers and runners wore ‘head lamps’.
At the end, all the competitors received a prize in the true spirit of giving!
