Dundee SAPS walk the walk against crime

This campaign is intended to restore community trust in the police by showing them that we can still combat crime and take action against it when it occurs in the district," said Communications Officer Nkwanyana.

A ‘Let’s Talk About Crime’ awareness campaign was held in Dundee last Saturday (April 15) by the Dundee SAPS District Communications Office.
The purpose was to encourage members of the community to report any and all crimes. “This campaign is intended to restore community trust in the police by showing them that we can still combat crime and take action against it when it occurs in the district,” said Communications Officer Nkwanyana.
Approximately 80 people participated in the programme, including Brigadier Buthelezi and District Commissioner Major General Francis Slambert. All district station commanders were also present, as well as unit commanders (K9, FCS, STES and Crime Intelligence).
Members of the public included independent security firms, CPF members, social development staff members, local Farms Association members, Dundee Youth Desk members and Traffic Department personnel. The communities of Sibongile, Craigside Farm, Peaceville, Forestdale and Dundee CBD were all reached through this initiative.
