Dundee Hindu Temple to mark Thaipoosam Kavady festival
The public Kavady festival will be held in Peacevale on Saturday, finishing at the Temple on Browning Street
The Dundee Hindu Temple wishes the community a blessed and peaceful 2023.
“We hope and pray that spiritually and culturally, you will be more enlightened and that all your wishes are fulfilled in this new year. “For the last two years, due to Covid-19, we have not hosted our Thaipoosam Kavady prayer as we usually do. This year, by the grace of Lord Muruga, we will be hosting Thaipoosam Kavady from January 26 to February 4.”
Kindly take note of the following dates:
Thursday, January 26 – flag-hoisting at 17.30;
Thursday, February 2 – Marieamman Kumbum at 18:00 and chariot parade at 18.30;
Friday, February 3 – Thirukalyanam at 18:00; Saturday, February 4 – Navagraha Shanti at 06:00, main Thaipoosam Kavady at 14:00, and flag de-hoisting at 18:00.
