Umzinyathi District returns a 79,8% matric pass rate

Locally, most high schools recorded good Matric results: 

The Matric Class of 2022 in the Umzinyathi District recorded a pass rate of 79,8%. The District is still at the bottom of all districts in KZN but the result is an improvement from last year.

Locally, most high schools recorded good Matric results:  Thalana High 95,%, Dundee High 92,2%, Sarel Cilliers 89,5%, Dundee Secondary 82,1%, Ethangeni Combined 77.7%, Sebenza High School Sithembile 52,6% and ML Sultan Glencoe 36%.

Excited students waited for hours at high schools to receive their results. Sarel’s Melusi Masondo with eight distinctions was one of those students invited to attend the official announcement of the KZN results with the MEC for Education, Mbali Fraser.

1. Free State 88.5%
2. Gauteng 84.4%
3. KwaZulu-Natal 83%
4. Western Cape 81%
5. North West 79.8%
6. Eastern Cape 77.3%
7. Mpumalanga 76.8%
8. Northern Cape 74.2%
9. Limpopo 72.1%
