Charges dropped against Sarika Madhan

Her husband and son are still facing charges of murder

Sarika Madhan, one of three members of her family charged with murder, is a free woman.

Charges were withdrawn against Madhan (47) this morning in the Dundee Court.

Her husband, Manoj (58) and oldest son, Sanjoth (28), are facing charges of murder following the death in March this year of Mercisha Tedpaul (24) who went missing on March 1 nd was found strangled to death on a hill near a railway line on Watt Road, Dundee, on March 4.

Tedpaul was in a relationship with the Madhan’s youngest son Nishkar, 26. They have two children together aged 7 and 4.

In addition to the murder charge, Manoj is charged with defeating the ends of justice while Sanjoth was also charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances and defeating the ends of justice.

Sarika’s attorney, Melo Shabangu, said the ‘family was very pleased that the charges were withdrawn against her (Sarika)’ .
